Afternoon guys
The sides are SUNTEK CXP70
Of which is 50%
I have no issues with any visibility at all

Rear is SUNTEK CXP35
Of which is 30%
Again of which I have no visibility issues of any format

As I've had my roof redyed, this makes the car look so much more two tone and all done with out being too dark as my worry was visibility as clearly seen in picture 3 of which steering wheel is clearly visible

Call and say seen on forum as on my car :)

Glad you're happy with it, but it's not a case of your visibility - it's a case of the police stopping you and asking you to prove the above stats with their torches and measurement tools back at the station. I've had plenty of Clio friends pulled for this and the result has been the police removing the tints there and then.

I'm highly impressed with finish and look of the roof!
It sounds as though someone did it for you but I'd be interested what they used. Thanks.

True but in light of day they aren't dark buddy as guy would not do it otherwise as I wouldn't want my car looking like a chav chariot either :)

Don't take this the wrong way... but the fitter has applied an illegal tint - so he/she/they clearly couldn't give a damn about you being pulled over for it. I'm not having a go at you - quite the contrary as I too had tints fitted 10+ years ago. But they simply are not legal and if you are pulled over, the police will bend you over!

Having seen Marcs car last night in person, I can tell you the side windows are no way illegal, even at night they are barely noticeably tinted. I don't know about the percentages but they look factory and are a very light tint. Police wouldn't even know they are tinted.

Seriously people worrying about police whats the worse that will happen they will make you remove the front tints so its now legal. You will also find nice cars police leave you alone too. In a clio driving around late at night of course you will attract the wrong attention. Ive driven for the last 10yrs+ with tints. I've even been stopped twice in that period with tinted windows and nothing was said about them. I had 20% which is the shade before fully blacked out limo shade too. Ive had 35% on other cars and had no issue either. The lower the percentage the less light gets through. Im sure 70% is actual legal requirement if it lets less light through than 70% its illegal. I live in a city too id say probably 60% of cars have tinted windows for safety. Poliice really have better things to worry about than stopping people for tints....

That's a rather confusing post... you don't know about the legal percentages, but can 100% tell me they are not illegal?

You're missing my point; there is a legal limit, the OP's quoted amounts are beyond this legal limit. If he is pulled by the police for something as simple as a random check or a bulb out there is a high probability they will start to mooch around the car to gauge the road worthiness of it. The tints give them just another reason to fine him/give him points, so a quick stop could turn into 6 points and a hefty fine etc etc That is the worst that could happen.

My Clio looked far less suspicious than the blacked out BMW you've posted... But I can feel a brick wall :headbang: in this thread, so I'll leave it!

100% in agreement with you here. Brick wall indeed :headbang:

:driving:

This all escalated quickly hahah

Bottom line
I'm more than happy with it
Car looks great
I beg bmw to find a fault with my car when it's with them let alone a plod
Each to own in my world but understand laws
But considering they'll be more busy with dodgy drivers and plates I'll be fine:)

Yes apologies, I am by no means having a go at you. But facts are facts on the %! Car looked utterly brilliant after the detail and I'm a big fan of the mods (bar the illegal ones   )
