Having seen Marcs car last night in person, I can tell you the side windows are no way illegal, even at night they are barely noticeably tinted. I don't know about the percentages but they look factory and are a very light tint. Police wouldn't even know they are tinted.
That's a rather confusing post... you don't know about the legal percentages, but can 100% tell me they are not illegal?

Seriously people worrying about police whats the worse that will happen they will make you remove the front tints so its now legal. You will also find nice cars police leave you alone too. In a clio driving around late at night of course you will attract the wrong attention. Ive driven for the last 10yrs+ with tints. I've even been stopped twice in that period with tinted windows and nothing was said about them. I had 20% which is the shade before fully blacked out limo shade too. Ive had 35% on other cars and had no issue either. The lower the percentage the less light gets through. Im sure 70% is actual legal requirement if it lets less light through than 70% its illegal. I live in a city too id say probably 60% of cars have tinted windows for safety. Poliice really have better things to worry about than stopping people for tints....
You're missing my point; there is a legal limit, the OP's quoted amounts are beyond this legal limit. If he is pulled by the police for something as simple as a random check or a bulb out there is a high probability they will start to mooch around the car to gauge the road worthiness of it. The tints give them just another reason to fine him/give him points, so a quick stop could turn into 6 points and a hefty fine etc etc
That is the worst that could happen.
My Clio looked far less suspicious than the blacked out BMW you've posted... But I can feel a brick wall

in this thread, so I'll leave it!
