So does a backbox delete rob power?

Our own "beetlegav" knows the answer  he couldn;t get his car off the rollers fast enough :poke: eh Gav  sounds well tho
If its more power you are after i would suggest you don't bother

If your willing to even think of straight piping the exhaust I'm pretty sure your not to worried about those couple HP being thrown away. I could maybe understand if your have serious mods such as a turbo/supercharger but if your stock the lose isn't a big deal.

I seem to remember the loss of power was as high as 20/30bhp, the engine seems to need the back pressure to run well :(

Can anyone who has had this done confirm? If it's that much I'm sure it would be very noticable when accelerating.

The guy at Infinity said to me there is no power loss, but of course they would..

Mate, I would be grateful for more info if you have it for sure as I am booked in and really don't fancy a 300 mile round trip. Thanks

Have a read , there's even the rolling road graph to study before you cancel your appointment :P

I'm all for a nice exhaust note but not if it castrates the engines power, form over function

I fitted this to my elise, i never had it dyno tested but seeing as it was a genuine lotus exhaust I figured it must have been tested properly.
It worked fantastically, I never heard another word swimbo said after that!!

Yeah it's robbed power from me but it's by no means slow, the noise is worth it!
But I have another exhaust plan in the pipeline that should be happening soon. It'll be perfectly the same noise wise, but I'll have my power back.

I'd be interested too if we buy a couple it may be cheaper??

I took the secondary cats of mine and 1inch bypass pipes on back box . Sounds awesome and felt no different power wise . If anything crisper .
