Snow's back

My parents have just moved from Beaconsfield to a hill in the middle of nowhere to the west of High Wycombe... I hope they weren't planning to go anywhere today!

We live on top of a hill to the west of wycombe and can easily get cut off but I've seen buses so the steep roads must be passable. Going to Gatwick tomorrow at silly o'clock so I hope it doesn't have another go.

Managed the trip down from Liverpool to London okay this morning - despite most of L3 being unusable, and L1 of the M40 being full of potholes (6 foot long is my estimate of the longest).

Sliding towards the concrete dividers at the M6 Tool booths was fun when they closed the lane that had been cleared - as was the wheel-spinning/tail out action at low-mid revs in 2nd/3rd/4th on the way out of the booths

The M6 toll is nice fast stretch on a good day. The annoying thing is that the overheads approaching only ever seem to say "M6 toll clear" and never about the old M6 so you don't know whether to risk it or not.

I live, 1,400 feet up, in the hills of Southern Burgundy, and we've had snow up here for weeks now. Strange thing is that the lovely girl, in her little 2 wheel drive La Poste van, has not missed a delivery despite the conditions. All the French people I know in the area have winter tyres on their cars and some have chains - life goes on - it's WInter - it's expected.
Scorp.

Had a bit of a light dusting early last night in and around Northwood

Hasn't stopped snowing since last night but thankfully it's too warm to settle. Not that I've anywhere to be today. :D
