Off the shelf is good for the average wash.
It also depends how you're maintaining your car and how you use these products.
Forget PH neutral if thats not what you care about and if you haven't cleaned the paint from contamination then its not to your benefit to spend good money on the best products - None of which are available off the shelf either and not that expensive either.

For the last 6 months I can clean my car without touching it as during winter I reserve the mitt unless I have to.
Example was the sahara rain where i stripped all the wax to remove all stains, cleaned the paint, polished any bits necessary and sealed then relaxed.
Now summer is coming, a different wax will be used to make the paint POP.
2 Bucket method is a must.
Unfortunately my neighbours would go nuts if I did it at mine as it's a shared garage and give me enough issues as it is.
