Snowfoam rip off !!!!!! of interest to those who use them

Off the shelf is good for the average wash.

It also depends how you're maintaining your car and how you use these products.

Forget PH neutral if thats not what you care about and if you haven't cleaned the paint from contamination then its not to your benefit to spend good money on the best products - None of which are available off the shelf either and not that expensive either.

Find what works for you and use it.

For the last 6 months I can clean my car without touching it as during winter I reserve the mitt unless I have to.
Example was the sahara rain where i stripped all the wax to remove all stains, cleaned the paint, polished any bits necessary and sealed then relaxed.

Now summer is coming, a different wax will be used to make the paint POP.

2 Bucket method is a must.

Unfortunately my neighbours would go nuts if I did it at mine as it's a shared garage and give me enough issues as it is.
If preferred I can try a write up with pics if people are interested.

I'd rinse the foam off before putting a mitt to it, but seen plenty do what you do.

I got one from Halfords when I ran out of valet pro. It was ok but typical high st prices so I won't be going there again. Back on the valet pro now which is ace. Oh, and ph neutral

Of course it does, but doesn't' stain my paint with water marks like it probably would do yours oke:

Ph neutral is really to make sure it doesn't strip wax off.

And if you protect your paint then rain isn't a concern.

Scandalous ripping off of customers here that really ferks me off :evil:
My son recently purchased Karcher jetwash with snowfoam lance so also purchased the necessary Demon foam liquid to go with it , that,s coming to an end now & he says to me at weekend "you can buy the next bottle" " no prob,s "i say , how much ? "£10.99" he replies Whaaaaaaaaaat ???? Seriously ???

So guess what ? The big name may look like a bigger container but both have 2litres in / tried it out the budget liquid today on 2 cars & virtually no difference whatsoever

The cheaper stuff is available at Poundland , no need to ask the price

What I will say Andy, is that if your son purchased an actual snow foam lance, that demon stuff isn't what you want. That's for joe average to attach to a hose or even a pressure washer. With a lance you want some proper stuff.

Proper stuff will really cling to the paint, and break dirt down, which I can confirm the demon stuff doesn't do.

I think the demon people are just trying to jump on the bandwagon by giving people a product that (in the ad's) looks as good as the guy up the road...but they don't tell you the guy up the road has proper equipment and product to do the job correctly.

This stuff probably, through improper use, causes a lot of swirling damage.

I used to take my cars through the car wash...or (get this!) look forward to it going into the stealers so they could wash it for me!!!!!!!

Owning a black car educates you about swirls, and once you realise...there is no going back!!!!!

Its sometimes safer to let the car get dirty for a while (no bird sh1t though) than to wash regularly with the wrong technique.

Good point there / chatting to dealer i bought the 330Ci off this week( its black paint ) & i commented on the car having very few swirl marks & he said he,d rather have a car that hadn,t been polished a lot as invariably it meant one decent effort really brought the paint to life . Makes sense now

LOL, me too for the family wagon (the car wash/dealer bit). Funny how things change, this weekend I was lecturing my neighbour, who is mega fussy about his cars and uses 1 bucket, a sponge and a leather. No hose, pre-rinse or anything. And he wonders why he has swirls...

That's a very weird co-incidence. I have the exact same thing, his car is white, he washes it CONSTANTLY (pretty much retired) with a bucket, sponge, and leather. I attempted to explain "new age washing" and it fell 1000% on deaf ears.

If I hadn't been to your place I'd wonder if you lived next door

Think ill stick with my magifoam, can't see me getting through the lot I have for at least 2 more years

I have lost count of the number of cars he has had in the last 10 years, all new or ex-demo. He had an A4 conv for a while but got rid of it as it got a bit dusty inside with the roof down. A new 5 series lasted about 6 months. A couple of golfs,A1,A3, Q3, Tiguan. Many I can't remember. Each time he says this one is a keeper. Then he goes on about how cheap the tax is and how economical it is. That after he has lost untold thousands in depreciation....
