Scandalous ripping off of customers here that really ferks me off
My son recently purchased Karcher jetwash with snowfoam lance so also purchased the necessary Demon foam liquid to go with it , that,s coming to an end now & he says to me at weekend "you can buy the next bottle" " no prob,s "i say , how much ? "£10.99" he replies Whaaaaaaaaaat ???? Seriously ???

So guess what ? The big name may look like a bigger container but both have 2litres in / tried it out the budget liquid today on 2 cars & virtually no difference whatsoever

The cheaper stuff is available at Poundland , no need to ask the price :D

Does the Demon Shine Snow Foam Car Shampoo recommend you only use it to loosen dirt, or does it suggest you foam the car and then use a sponge in the foam?

Demon Swirls?

And is the in-built foam gun any good without the pressure washer? I've seen the TV add and it looks good, but I reckon its weak.

TBH i power spray the whole car first , then snowfoam it , then still use a bucket of soapy water with Megs shampoo or AG shampoo but it does give a glossy feel once all rinsed off , i always thought the snowfoam caper was a gimmick & as of now i would not change that thought

I guess it works it's way into nooks and crannies than regular hand wash doesn't reach? But other than that I can't see much point, but I'm not that into detailing so happy to be proved wrong

Never been a fan of Demonshine products to begin with...

I've consistently had excellent results with Meguiar's, gtechniq, and poorboys!

The point of pre-wash and snow foam is to remove as much crud as possible without actually "touching" the paintwork with a mitt.

Snowfoam is meant to soften/loosen the crud and then you rinse it off and carry it away, resulting in less dirt on the paint for the wash mitt to swirl!

I reckon that most people would use this product to replace the soap bucket. i.e. spray it on, agitate with the sponge and then rinse off.

But then, if they're using a sponge, I guess it doesn't matter what they do.

OK, makes sense. So in theory the Demon Shine stuff you attach to a hose should be good enough, no need for a Pressure washer?

There is a great YouTube video by drive-clean on an Audi r8 blackbird, it shows snow foam at its best and explains as described above it is a way to shift dirt without touching the car. Be warned though the 2 bucket technique is so yesterday and you may need to order 5 brushes. :D you may feel inclined to also invest in an air compressor!

You still need pretty good water pressure to make the it foam with the nozzle thingy they include, if not it's next to useless.

2 bucket method so yesterday? Why?

If we all used the amount of water that Larry (the guy from the drive clean and Ammo NYC vids) uses to clean his car there'd be a massive water drought.

I use 2 buckets and you can clearly see the benefit .... The soap bucket water stays clean and the dirty bucket gets minging!

Look - this Ferrari is identical to this Fiat. They're both italian, both red, one is £135,000 and one is £1,350.... what a rip off.

Yes - different product. I wouldn't use either. ;) :poke:

Tbf demonshine is more like bmw that halfords charge ferrari prices for. How much is the standard price at wilkinsons? 6 quid? I bout 3 bottles from wilkos when it was on offer at 3 quid! 10.99 is ludicrous.

I am well aware that analogy can be applied to most things RE cost , the post was to highlight that the product itself is a ridiculous difference in cost to a alternative product that will give you the same end result , its soapy water , how much more soapy is £10.99 V £1 ? Not much after trying both

Not all snowfoams are the same!

Some are basically TFR's that will strip your wax etc.

One day they will create a true "touchless" wash.....but I've got more chance of losing 10st than that happening!

buy a 19p bar of soap and dilute in water .... that makes the £1 version seem a real rip off! :poke:

Never used snow foam myself but often thought I should give it a go :)
