White film - Original Snowfoam or Meguiars NXT?

My first wash after my detail, oh so carefully went well other than there seems to be a slight opaque film left on the car, when i can to dry the car it looked all smeared.

Routine was jet wash, Snowfoam and NXT mix, jet wash, NXT woollen hand mitt two bucket grit guard wash, jet wash and then dry.

Drying made such a mess that I jet washed it again and let it dry normally as water spots looked better than smears.

So the question is was it the Snowfoam or the NXT? I'm hovering around the NXT as surely I'd have washed any Snowfoam off when hand washing it?

Any suggestions for an alternative to the Meguiars stuff that doesn't leave a film? (I guess it's only noticeable on black and blue colours as the rest are lighter and you might not see it)

I use the Meguiars stuff; only time I have had a film on is when using too much of the soap solution?

I used just over a small capful to the bucket...

Reading up on NXT it seems it has a film to help water sheeting.. That's probably it. Seems most recommend Meguiars Crystal or Gold Class wash to leave a clean finish... Time to go shopping..

I had the same problem yesterday.Washed both cars yesterday both were mopped two weeks ago & after snow foaming ,rince , megs nxt, rince & dry .Had water marks all over the paintwork.Used some megs last toutch & it removed most of the water marks on the red zed but still visable on the black 3.It was a nice sunny day yesterday so hoping thats the problem.Only used the usual amount of Nxt.Will give it a other wash today. :x

Chemical Guys Q7 spray sealant is very good for this problem, use it on my interlagos blue and carbon black. All you need to do is spray onto a microfibre, wipe over car then give it a light buff off.If you have persistant smearing you could try wipe down panels with some isopropyl alcohol   .

Thanks for that. I've got some dodo time to dry on the way, I'm hoping this will do the trick...
Thats really good stuff i use that along with most of their other products. Their Born to be Mild shampoo is really good to.

Buy a cheap garden vac/blower.

Blow the water off the mirrors and shut lines first then the rest of the car.

Or buy one of those resin vessels the window cleaners use and just spray filtered water over the car after a wash and leave to dry spot free. (there is a scaled down domestic version of this).

If that's all a bit much. Meguiars last touch 1:1 with water and some soft microfibers for drying.

I use the garden blower.

You will get some strange looks from the neighbours though.

there is a guy on here who offers a attachment for a garden hose that distills the water, i dont have one but a load of the members have and have been impressed by the results
