If your on detailing world then autobrite direct have a group buy on for £39.99 with 500ml of there supa snowfoam which im using right now and is quite good stuff.

Those from halfords dont have the vacuum set up of a true foam lance matey, they will just gush a thick shampoo type of foam at the car where as a true foam lance will cover the car in almost shaving foam :D

Ordered mine yesterday and arrived today, just need the weather to improve a little to give it a go.

I've got a new pressure washer, and the snow foam kit from Autobriteas well as Zymol stuff etc all waiting for better weather to wash my newly detailed car. Roll on Spring time.

I am so tempted to snow foam my X5 now as it is head to toe in salt. Only concern if I kill everyone with frozen water on the drive though...

Is there any such snow foam attachment that works with a normal garden hose? I don't use a pressure washer to wash cars, vans, etc  but the idea of what snow does (particularly at this time of year) very much appeals...

There you go.......

Not exactly washing weather team but if you do be carefull

Just took delivery of the Espuma foam I've been reading so many glowing reviews of. Will report back soon as I have a totally caked up mercedes that hasn't been washed in at least 2 months :)

Well I used snow foam neat when I obviously shouldn't have - how much should you dilute it??

D'oh. I use about 20% too. Seems to do the job but some people would have you believe the dilution ratio is some kind of science if you read DW regularly :D

Some things can get a little techno jargon but average would be 1 inch in a 1ltr bottle. Warm water can help coax the product into a better cleaning action but without a hotwash pressure washer its still not at full effect. A majority arent strong enough to strip waxes/sealants on there own. The espuma that has been mentioned is more alomng the line of a tfr basis akin to autosmart actimouse 2 etc which if dilluted incorrectly can stain paint and trim.

Tried mine today, didn't get the result I was expecting :( hoping you can give me some pointers.

The outside temp was a barmy 4 degrees, car was already wet due to rain (wasn't raining at the time) I put just over an inch of Supa Snow Foam in the bottle and topped with warm water.

Foam was't to bad but even on minimum it wasn't as foamy as seen on Youtube clips, but this could be down to the car being wet maybe. Anyway left for a few minutes then applied a bit more as it was dripping off and left a while longer then rinsed. Most of the grim was still there but if you wiped with finger was easily removed.

Just found this post on DW http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=197534 and the rear of this scoobie was as bad as the car I tried and it looks as if his came clean with the rinse, so the question is what did I do wrong.

Was it:

1.

3. Not enough/wrong snow foam
4. Another reason

How long did it dwell for? How much did you play with the adjustment on the lance? It goes from weak piddley foam to super shaving foamerama in mine!

Don't suppose you took any pics of what it did do?

Sounds like the mix was good. How wide was the spray set? In the video in the link on my earlier post you'll see with mine I set it too narrow to start with, but went on much better once I'd set it to a wider fan.

To be honest, that's how mine works - still see some dirt after the rinse...

The results from the Subaru were impressive, but I can only think that stuff is pretty aggressive to be getting it that clean - someone alluded to this in the DW thread (didn't read it all). Would be surprised if it's not taking some of the wax with it, especially if a natural wax. From the earlier thread (I was told that the purpose of the snow foam wasn't to clean the car itself, but to lift the dirt off the car as a cleaning aid - followed by two bucket method. Ultimately I find it gives a cleaner / smoother finish (could be in the mind), certainly makes it a hell of a lot easier to clean :D

Not sure about the cold - may clean mine a little later, will let you know how I get on, I use a vey gentle PH neutral foam.

EDIT: After the first go, how much foam mix did you go through? Or for the two tries?

Took some before pics, didn't think to take some during pics :fightwall: and didn't want to take any after pics.

I did mess around with the fan settings and put it on a wider pattern.

I may also have another go on the old banger later, it's not been washed for 8 months  , yet to try it on the Z4 though.

Perhaps I'm expecting to much.

I was originally, until told otherwise. What is really good though, it is a, much easier to clean the car well, and b, after foam and the 2 bucket method, the paint seems a smoother than 2 bucket alone.

Can't remember how dirty mine is, but will have a gone if the drizzle abates.

Could it also be the wife's car has been neglected for a bit so wax protection a bit thin if it exists at all?

I used my snow foam 'Magifoam' for the first time today as an experiment with my new (cheap) Karcher. Used it on my MG and the results were very good. Pre-wet car with washer then thick foam (took a bit of experimenting with settings) which dwelt on the car really well. Only left it on for 5 minutes but most of the dirt came off when I rinsed. Better than I expected really. Will have a go on the Zed next.

srhutch, gave mine a quick clean earlier, the snow foam still worked, but didn't seem to be foaming up on the car as much as usual. Oddly, it was like snow after a little while on the ground :?

Something isn't right with mine, just tried again and it's coming out like soapy water. I'm wondering if there is a problem with my Karcher. Think I may have to try with another first before I buy one though.
