Snow + DSC = still sideways

I find Supermarkets put too many bollards in their carparks for big sliding fun, but a cinema near me has a few lamp posts around so it makes for a better drift.

Have fun but look after yourselves.

Thankfully we have a nice fresh covering to play on  Main roads are fine, so I have to take my daughter out to teach her how to drive on snow, but will be using her Ka

Sutton Park this afternoon for some sledging and driving fun.

How are you finding the FK452 tyres in this weather by the way... I really need to make a choice on buying just new Bridgestones at the front, or getting a full new set of FK452's quite soon...

Thanks

Dave

4 to 5 inches of snow today and me taking 15 minutes of sliding, wheel spinning, nearly crashing into the barriers and eventually having to be pushed up the hill out of my carpark, has shown me never to try driving the Z4 again in this weather!!

Yep plenty of snow to play with in Bristol too, although it wasn't too much fun on the roads! Took me 5 mins to get out of the drive, tried every combination rocking the car backwards and forwards and finally got out in 2nd gear with DTC enabled.

One thing that really surprised me was the tailgating - I know I was travelling slower than most people, however most people had a nice front wheel drive car with considerably skinnier tyres!

Snow seems to be melting pretty quick, lets hope the temperature doesn't drop rapidly otherwise I'll be sleeping in the office....!

6-7 inches of snow here today in a little village near Milton Keynes. Luckily in the little village I`m staying in I`m living in an old converted farm building and the farmer lives next door. I couldn`t for the life of me reverse my car out of it`s parking position this morning. The farmers little helper tried pulling me backwards but even the 4x4 he was using (a toyota hi-lux) had all four wheels spinning. FInally we got the car reversed enough and straight enough so I could just pull away forwards and after that I was perfectly fine again but today I avoided the hill that I successfully went up a few days ago and the cars were already piled up there - yikes.
I`m considering getting a taxi back tonight as I`m sure the village will be still snowed under and I can`t think of a position I can park in where I can just drive forwards out of in the morning - it`ll involve reversing again - either reversing to get into the parking position or reversing out of in the morning.
BTW, my car was bottoming out in the snow when I was reversing.

Loving the Falkens. Can't really say if they are good in the weather as the Zed 4 is useless - period, so I've be comparing no grip with nil grip...lol I only take it out to mess about.
Today I've spent 2 hours fixing a broken door handle on the X5 that I pulled on too hard when it was frozen on Monday, so now I'm frozen because it won't fit fully in the garage

Had to get a pic of my snow covered Z4 this morning - a rare event no doubt!

Thankfully the drive home was pretty uneventful as most of the snow on the road has already melted, even where it hasn't been gritted.

Needed a helping push to get out of the works carpark, just to much low down torque and quite a short reverse gear. Pulled away forwards in third ok though with DTC active. Will reverse into the parking spaces more often now just encase.
