Has anyone mentioned getting a stubby yet? :D

I am aware of the 'forum pressure' to get a stubby from when I had my Z4MC. The car is my partners, so I will mention the stubby but I don't know if she will wan't one!

I do like the de-baged look to keep the car clean and uncluttered, but each to their own.

The wheel hubs are nice and silver at present, but I'm wondering if they will rust like the ones on my 1 series, and most other BMW's for that matter.

Might I suggest checking the door alignment before collection? The drivers door on my dads 20i M Sport is simply atrocious...

And funny you should mention all the white M Sports, my dads is too

Lovely looking car, Mark.

Mitch - what exactly are we looking out for when you say door allignment? Is it shown in that picture? Sorry if I'm asking a daft (or obvious) question but I've got a Z4 on order and as many tips as I can get for the inspection, the better. I'm not really a car fanatic so pretend you're talking to a 6 year old please!

No that picture is of the passenger side, the alignment on my dad's car is on the drivers side door (RHD).

Basically the edge of the door isn't flush with the rear guard. If you run your hand from the door to the guard there is a noticeable difference. To be honest I can see it just by looking at his door. I'll try and get a picture tomorrow.

I was very surprised it's like it is, the panel gaps on my E85 are better.

It wasn't until about 6 weeks after I noticed it he mentioned it. I wasn't there when he collected the car or I would have said something straight away. He's going to get BMW to sort it at it's next service. In his case it doesn't seem to be affecting anything, it just isn't quite right.

Something to keep an eye out for then. Be good to see a picture but I get the idea. Cheers mate. Hope your dad gets it sorted in the service.

Didn't know what side you had your steering wheels on down under!

Not good at all, I'd be back at the dealers right away....but they will say its been caught by wind, or opened too wide, the usual....

The dealer dad and I go to is really good, they'll sort it out.
Not to appear smart, but perhaps they should have sorted it pre-delivery...

Sent from my iPad

I agree, they should have. I would have pointed it out on pickup and had it rectified straight away, but alas wasn't there and it isn't my car.

The service guys seem to be a bit ahead of the sales staff too.

That door panel is shocking :-o Hope it gets sorted. Fortunately ours seems ok.

We picked up the car yesterday morning, here's a few pics from the collection bay (No stubby yet I know :) ). Fortunately at least it wasn't raining yesterday, but I don't think we will be going out today in this weather!

Looking great 8)

Makes all the difference having the handover in doors and its a great feeling when you drive off out the showroom.

Just a shame the weather is shocking at the mo

Enjoy :)

Welcome. Another recession white  .

I think I might write to BMW Marketing... perhaps they can relabel the 20i to 'The Recession Edition' or 'Recession Highline'.. ooh, something meaner sounding 'Recession Shadowline'

Sorry, can't help it... I'm quite envious of you lot with the higher MPG and lower Insurance... up to the point I put my foot down and think 'whoa' and forget about all that.
