Snapped Spring after 4 months!!!

Lol good work chaps, loving the ///M banter

So do we go Eibach or H&R is the question. Suppose the answer is to check the search, but then why bother when you helpful ///M owners like to point me in the right direction for my ///M

Haha. Well this is where my lack of ///M knowledge will shine. With my 3.0si I went with eibach because the H&R drop was a little greater and I didn't want it it any lower than the eibachs! The ride on the Eibachs was much improved over the OEM especially on the rough roads!

Eibach pro was very highly recommended and the drop was as low as I'd seen, that and a word on here, with Exdos and others, made my mind up.
Don't reckon we'll see much of Adam\\\ on this thread...

Edit: can Spectre, alanJ, CJ etc just put a small mod into the M section so that all mentions of the letter m default to our fave ///m?

Sorry, I said "low" and I meant "small" - as in I didn't want it dropped to the floor. Maybe I should have said the drop was the smallest....

Only if we can have it in full colour IIIM

Can we also make it a searchable term please ? Adam can then police it - no, dammit, we can police ourselves !!!

Had one spring replaced on an Si Coupe which I sold on 33k miles. I can't remember at what milage it was replaced. Also had both replaced on an MMMMM Coupe (mine :) ) which I sold somewhere around 77k miles. Can't remember at what milage they broke but never had to replace either again. The BMW dealer said they tend to corrode close to bottom (or was it top?) and then just break. On any car they can occasionally just break due to manufacturing imperfections - and at any milage.

///My IIIM snapped a spring at 30K miles. I changed them for Eibachs with an improvement in ride and handling, and better looks too

I can beat that, snapped a rear spring in 11 days of ownership on the evo triangle with Z4 forum. Made quite a bang! That was at 23k miles roughly.

The dealer saw more of my car in the first two months than I did  :|

Not many M models with broken springs. Even stronger, never even heard of an M having one.

Did I mention M enough in the post?

my M had two broken rear springs , ... sorry, but I had to mention it was an M to reply to pvr's post :poke:
