Snapped passenger window regulator cable

Hello members, My passenger window stopped working (2003 Z4 3.0 manual Roadster) and upon removing the door trim etc I was confronted with a broken cable. Do I require a whole new regulator assembly including motor. Can the cable be repaired? Any ideas on this matter would be most welcome.

the only realistic option is a replacement. IIRC somewhere in the region 0f 120 GBP then an hour or two to fit.

it isnt too much of a challenge to fit the replacement.

EDIT: the assembly doesnt include the motor but you dont need that anyway!
