Playing with Foxwell reader.

My understanding is that the engine mang. is adjusting fuel to balance engine, based on variation in rotational speed.
Last two are far from others, but believe within limits.
Thought i would pull the plugs and check the gaps.
Got to admit last time i never checked the new one's just fitted them, some 20k ago.
I tended to find they were gaped right as bought.
Interesting to see what i find.

But just found out gap values, 1.1mm/0.043 inch and torque 23 +/-3nm.

This was a 40k plug.

Think i have done 20k on latest set.

just one correction, fuel, or rather mixture, is balanced to comply with emission standards, they don't care about engine running

the short and long term fuel trims (lambda additive, multiplicative values in case of bmw) show how long the injectors are spraying fuel

smooth running is more related to misfire detection, which inherently, can impact fuel trims - bad spark plug doesn't burn fuel, so the PCM takes away fuel, meaning negative fuel trims, etc.

Well pulled the plugs, all fine to gap.
Still drop of oil in no.4, seal obviously leaking.
Nice to know what normal values are.
