smoked indicators

I found an old can of black llight cluster tint spray in the shed, must of been over ten years old, but the can still worked, so I tried it out on my side indicators!

if it looks crap it comes off with some white spirit, but I think its turned out quite well and the indicators still flash as orange as before

cleans the side of the car up nicely!

Not a bad approach to partial de-gingering that :thumbsup:

Might look even better if the finsh was a bit gloss ? Perhaps it is and my iPad resolution is spoiling it :P
 
They are slightly matt. It did say on The tin about using a gloss lacquer if required. But I quite like it at matt.

It was cheap and easy. And only took 30 mins.

That looks good. I might give that a go. You though of atttempting the front indicators in the same way ???

that did cross my mind, although if the amber part is set back slightly, it wouldnt work, unless you take the cluster apart first.

has anybody ever managed to mask the orange front indicators?
 
I'm sure I've seen a thread on here where some guy with a black Zed tint the outside of the headlight. I wasn't blown away by the end result though to be honest.
 
Looks good, I've tinted many a light on my rocco over the years but I think I will leave the zed standard in this respect..

I've smoked my indicators, but on the hockey sticks, not the headlight lens.

Pics will be upped eventually :fuelfire:
