Smoke!

This has got me stumped! It doesn’t use any significant amounts of oil and it doesn’t smoke when driving. However if I park it nose up on a slight hill, leave it for half an hour then when I start up I get a cloud of burning oil smoke coming out of the back! Park it nose down and it’s fine.
A valve stem oil seal towards the back of the engine do you think?

Valve stem seals a possibility.

My old ST24 had that problem. It was worse first thing in the morning having sat overnight.

Is the smoke 💨 blue ?

ST24  I had the test mule in sheep's clothing. The SI 24. Same car underneath as for as I know. :D

Its got burnt oil smell to it, its not condensation as it does that as as standard! And it kind of lingers around rather than just blowing away like steam does.

Not something as simple as the top cover gasket leaking then?
They can be difficult to seal around the half moon shapes at the rear.
I'm assuming this is the M54?

Yes, the M54. I don't think its a gasket as its definitely coming out of the exhaust. Its Baltic outside right now so if it ever warms up a bit I'll do some investigation work.

Ah my mistake, I read it as back of the engine, sorry.
