Could we have a green 'tick' to show we agree rather than like (stuck record)?

Do you mean rather than thumbs up icon? The thing is a tick means something else i.e. correct rather than approval

I meant an emoji to say that the poster was correct eg.. "the world is round" I'd like to say 'correct' rather than 'nice'

Possibly an unpopular opinion, and I am respectful of the demographic here, but the old similes really dated the forum and made it look a bit dark-ages of the internet -I thought the new ones used by whatsapp etc was a great step forward.

That's why I started fresh initially, I just wondered if people wanted a few of the old ones. I am seeing if I can find some hi-res versions or maybe I can design some new ones.

Have a look on https://yoursmiles.org/ there are plenty there for inspiration (or to borrow...)

So you just want another reaction with a green tick and "correct"?
Don't like that idea TBH. It looks a bit 'off'.
This forum is all about opinions, similar and differing (as is all social media). An 'agree' is fine but a 'correct' is one person saying that another's 'opinion' is a fact and Gospel. When it may not be at all, just two agreeing opinions.

Example: if I were to say "Peter is a twat" and someone (!) agreed, they would need to put 'correct'. That is just two people's opinions that agree, they are not 'correct'.

Was actually thinking the same this aft.. (not that Peter is a twat, the green tick issue). I don't like having two reactions with overlapping meanings, so I removed it.

If someone wants to react with a "that is correct" they can type it :)

Whatever you do, don't take away the ability to edit quoted text.
I'm not so sure if that is a benefit, as Pondy has form for editing mine.

Then again I suppose I could delete them now.

(Not that I necessarily will).

Actually thinking about it there used to be a good smilie for "hooters", although it wasn't exactly PC!
