Smelly interior

I’ve today done the unthinkable and entrusted my Z to a local trusted indie.

I’ve noticed a smell of coolant when the heaters on which doesn’t bode well. Had a look round under the dash footwells and can’t see or feel anything, nothing is damp or stained. Removed the lower dash panels and still nothing obvious. Put about 150ml in the expansion tank after about 4000 miles so can’t be anything gushing out.

Don’t fancy removing loads of trim so I’ve taken the plunge and given it to the indie. He’s never encountered a failed matrix on a Z but anything’s possible.

Fingers crossed for a successful solution that doesn’t break the bank

Every time i start my car from cold strong smell of fuel in the cabin.
I just assume a very rich mixture start.
Or is it leaking injectors pooling ? N52 engine.

Could the smell be leak under bonnet entering car through vent.
I had strong burning oil smell...was the filter gasket leaking.

Traced to weeping joint on bulkhead - engine bay side. Phew.
