Smarttop problem?

I've got a Smarttop installed - have checked the settings and reflashed the device.

I can open and close the roof with 3 clicks on the key no problem.

But when I'm in the car the console switch has to be held down for open and close. It didn't do this when I first installed Smarttop - it was one touch in both directions.

Any ideas?

Hey James, mine has done that before almost as if its forgot its setting but a reflash fixed it , another thing i noticed was if you held it down too long it would then require you to open it holding it down, you literally need to tap the button once quickly and let go..if you hold it down for a second before releasing I think the unit then requires you to go the whole way so try a quicker dab of the button almost like you do when you type a letter on a keyboard, since I've been doing it that way it always works fine

I would double check your settings for the interior switch before fault finding anywhere else.

IIRC there are 15 different settings on the module!

Cheers both - will have another look - and try the quicker touch on the button. The Smarttop does seem a bit unreliable - once or twice it has forgotten the wing mirror settings so i end up with mirrors folded when the car is unlocked rather than locked

Mine does the same on open but closes on a tap - maybe I am holding the button down too long, going to check shortly

I had an issue with the mirrors not closing on lock - quick refresh and all sorted, seems common thing to me to lose some of its memory
