SmartTop finally ordered... Now Installed.. Dangerously!

OK so I've succumbed and ordered the SmartTop ... FYI http://www.ppcgb.com/ have a Jan sale on, the SmartTop cost me £266 instead of £280 normally (and everywhere else I've looked once you include VAT). Free delivery too.
 
Fitted mine last weekend, just need weather to change now to get the benefit. I did the same mistake as everyone else by the sounds of it and didn't locate the connector properly the first time.
 
Let us know how it goes
Might invest in one of these but heard some horror stories of them going wrong and car getting towed away :|

I've read those stories but 99% are related to microswitch failure of the actual roof and people thinking its a smart top issue... not too concerned, about time I did a few mods...
 
A safe remap is next on the cards (safe=not pushing 400bhp out of it, but keeping it around 350bhp to give me some oomph without risking component failure)... BHP UK that did my dyno will be the choice and I have a 'coupon' to have it for £350!

Its because you don't have an e89... there are limitations to the hard top use/windows/etc that this gets around... that's the point.. which is completely lost on you because you don't have an e89!

Perhaps there is one for the e86 that comes with a can opener as a bundle?... :poke:

I really need to put the roof down to get into mine (narrow garage at the area of door opening/a neck op / getting old and less nimble) Ok can drop the roof on the fob but can't put it back up again!

Was the installation pain free ?

Aren't those the CSL replicas? They are ten a penny TBH and I think they look a bit aftermarket. I'm happy to keep my 296 despite the worry, they just look great with that diamond cut face. When they go bang (and they likely will) then I'll replace them with 313's I think.. the look of 326 but with a diamond cut face which when the light catches it, looks fantastic. Albeit I read a post the other day that joining the 296 and 326 crack list was indeed the 313's :(
