I fitted my new to me smart top and all good and working. In the programming menu option 5, the one where you can open and close the roof with the fob by holding or tapping. At the bottom of the page it says if you hold or tap the open button with the top already open the top will lift itself out of the boot like factory trunk access. Mine does nothing when I do this. Is this for cars with factory comfort access.?

I recommend using the tap-only options. The hold options can be dangerous.
I originally stuck with the hold defaults... then after putting the cover on the car to leave it for a few weeks, I bent down pick up a few things. In 3 seconds, the windows started down and top began moving and I had to scramble to get the key out of my pocket to stop the transformation.
The key had been accidentally pressed and held just by my pants tightening as I crouched down. I'm glad I figured it out quickly or my cover would have been damaged, and maybe my roof. In any case, I changed to the 2x and 3x button presses to remove the risk in the future.

Are they your settings on the smart top? I notice you have function 4 off. I have set mine to the number 4 speed. My car already opens the roof at speeds up to 25mph according to the manual. Should it be turned off and let it use the factory settings or will it make no difference?
It's really cool to flip your top up and down when its moving.. until you hit a bump or stop fast when you're executing this show off move and screw up your very complex mechanism. Of course, if you have the funds to cover this repair shop joy, so be it... 
It's not really a boot/trunk.. it's more like an extended pocket or fanny pack :lol:
No I didn’t but I’m an expert now at removing the trims so no problem getting to the smart top . On the mods 4 cars programming section on function 5 it mentions the unlock and lock buttons for the roof operation then mentions the open button for the trunk access hence why I’m thinking it could be the boot open button that should be tapped or held in. I didn’t press this when trying to do the trunk access only the unlock button on the remote which didn’t do anything.
