Correct
I bought one in July for £234 +VAT = £280.80
MIght be worth ringing them up and asking.
Be prepared for excuses though, new stock, price increase, exchange rate etc :(
Their current web site price is £286 + Vat :!:

Thanks guys, I'll take a look and give them a call tomorrow.
I had planned to pick one up from motive mods when I was in Vegas last week, but didn't get around to it.

What's the procedure for organising a group buy?

If you've done this before could you offer any advice please?

Like the idea but these stories put me off, seems if your lucky and fit it correctly your OK but cock it up can be a PITA.

Think the guy was lucky and had an understanding dealer :)

I always get jinxed with ideas like this so ill pass on this one - as handy as it looks though.

Does this also open the roof whilst travelling? I know the LCI cars can do this but I thought that they had reinforced hydraulics to acheive this?

I think the smart top module allows you to open the roof up until 40kmh.

My car, a Sep 2012 build can do it by default, whereas my original car, 6 months older, could not. Yes - BMW uprated something in the mechanism to achieve it, although essentially all this does is a software overide.

I'm so tempted to get one -mainly for the auto fold mirror on locking, and being able to open/close the roof with a click on the key fob, but I never save any money to buy it.

I got mine from www.MotiveMods.com. It was sent from Las vegas to New Zealand (other side of the world and we have Z4's too  ) where I live in 3 days. Awesome service and quick.

Why do you have to buy from the UK? It's a global market and it only cost me $360 USD which seems cheaper than what you pay in pounds. Sometimes being on the other side of the world makes you have a broader view, bigger market.

Mine worked perfect, really easy to fit and a fantastic mod. Just be extra careful fitting the connectors, get it straight, don't bend any pins. My mate has an SLK and fitted his before I did and his roof got stuck down. It was a bent pin, MB put the roof back up but the car has to go in for repairs next week, hopefully won't be to expensive. Just pay extra attention when fitting the plugs.
