I'm just about to trade in my Z4 for an M140i and have a Smarttop STLFBW3 for sale. It's in perfect working order, contains the latest software & I'd take £100 for it. If you're interested, PM me.

You're a jammy Bear :poke:

It really is 1st world problems having to hold your finger on the button to close the roof especially when you want to get out so as much as I feel £250 is excessive, I'd be interested in hearing how much we can get them for depending on the amount of interested parties!

I have held off getting one of these as it would be too easy to put the roof up and down at the wrong times, like driving slightly too fast and the wind doing damage.
The roof has far too many switches and pivots for risking anything to go wrong.
Really the only thing that would be handy for me would be putting the roof up via the remote when not in the car.

The speed you can operate the roof at is limited by the module, you can program it to work at several different speeds or only when stationary if you prefer
My car lets me raise/lower the roof at up to 25mph as standard?
Rob

I've sent off an email to PPCGB about discounting for a group by and to be hones I was a little disappointed by there discount offer as they are only offering an extra 5% off, just over £15. I know they are already on offer down from £318 to £302.10 but I assumed that was down to the favourable exchange rate from the USA.

So the Price on offer is £287

I can already raise and lower my roof from my key-fob - I wonder if that means I already have the box of tricks!? :?

Thats what I dont want really, operating it at 25mph and then gusts of wind that could possibly twist everything out of alignment.
If I was to set it to only work when stationary it would be a lot of cash just to close the roof. :(

It also gives you one touch operation from the interior switches & one touch roll up on all 4 windows

I thought they were overpriced as well, got lucky with my used item!
You would be fine with roof operation on the move, bmw sell the car with this capability-its not like trying to raise the e85 soft top which forms a parachute as it raises-the e89 roof assembly is "open ended" as it comes up and the wind blows through it without trauma

And the boot lid is acting like an air brake pointing straight up into the air.
Touch wood, we have not had one niggle with our car and I dont want to start introducing problems

There is that, but it's designed to take it & ive not read of any damaged boot lids (apart from those that have coded the roof to work at crazy speeds)
It will be fine

I don't mind sitting there holding the button, it gives me time to think of all the money I've saved from not buying a smart top
