Happy Easter everyone, E89 Sdrive 30i
A couple of really easy questions for you......... just fitted a new battery and when unlocking my car I thought I would keep the unlock button pressed to see if the windows dropped. (They did not with the old battery)
Eventually they went down and much to my surprise (and delight) the roof then went down too :)
Does this mean it has had a smart top retro fitted at some point?
Question 2,
My lights are really good and very white, does this mean it has probably had the bulbs upgraded to at some point?

Roof drops with the standard setup on a long key press.

I believe the smart top adds additional features like one touch roof opening from the cabin, and remote closing via the lock button. Maybe some other stuff too, but I have never had one.

Lights on the 30i should be yellow as standard as far as I know. I like the yellow look, but a few people upgrade them to look like the LCI models.
 
As Deepseaskateboard says the key will open the roof without SmartTOP but won’t close it. I have SmartTOP which gives you extra features at a price. The E89 has Xenon headlights so they should be bright. Quite a lot of people have converted the angel eyes to LED which gives a whiter light.
