smart roof

I saw on here a few days ago a link for a mod chip...couple of hundred quid...that you install yourself and it gives you smart roof features as well as things like single click operation (instead of holding down the button) and operating the roof at upto 20mph.....thing is i think this was for an E85...but i cant find it now...so....

is one of these available aftermarket on an E89....and if so can anybody post a link?

or have BMW blocked this on the newer model meaning i have to go to them??

Its called Smart Top. I have it, its fab. BMW have not 'blocked' it.

I have noticed that my 62 can open and close roof at 25mph which is way better than any other mode or even pre 09's l. When in my 10 plate the other month I noticed him opening when driving, I thought he had this box.

The old one (yes 10 is my old one) even a slight movement or on a slope it would not think of opening. I have seen a video of someone dong like 40 dropping the top, but thats just pushing it.

I did cause someone to flash me from behind the other day, I was pulling away from traffic lights then dropped the top so I think he panicked seeing my boot open up. I possibly would think twice if I was following a car that the boot suddenly pulled up.....

But the old pre 09's you could open and close the roof from the key in the drivers door which atleast saves you from getting in the car to close the roof.

Now do I get this or 65bhp remap... gonna get this for now then pop the remap in a few months time after running it in (its now done 900 miles so a few weeks to go) and got used to the engine.
