The gaskets from GSF are decent quality (Victor Reinze I think?) and are £20.

As said, you should also get the gaskets for the bolts (you need 15 of them) and these are around 75p each.

could you link me to these online if possible? thanks

Use coupon GSF25 for 25% off, should come out to £24.

GSF were doing 35% off until yesterday

just went on that link, my rocker cover gasket on there is £61.80p but the code doesnt work (says "Coupon code "GSF25" is not valid.") but even with 25% off it would be £46.35p ??

not sure how you got £24??

Hi there,

Just done my rocker gasket last Saturday, takes about an hour to do, and is really easy.
Ordered mine off of eBay its fai with 2 years guarantee so should be ik.
Best part is only £14.
I also ordered the Rtv silicone as well for a couple of quid.
Watch the YouTube video by raj, it's a simple job.

Sorry, I have the 6cyl one and didn't realise you had the 4cyl engine. The code worked for me two weeks ago, not sure what's changed.

yea its a shame as its looking like its gonna cost £60+ plus labour....

can anybody else link to a gasket set they can recommend ?? (i really dont want to risk my luck buying a cheap ebay one, would rather have a forum recommended one)

Why not just get one from BMW? They're not very expensive.

been told there £80 + and then with labour its well over £100..... if i can source one thats half that price as a lot of people have suggested i can get the job done half the price just by some help from people who have recently done the job themselves.

Have a look on ebay.

I recently did the gasket on my E36 328 for £28 IIRC and that was a Febi one which are a well known OEM alternative.

Put the part number in on bmminiparts and they'll send you a price. I'm sure mine cost about half that for the bigger 6 cylinder gasket kit.

I too suffer with a minor leak from the rocker cover gasket.
My local indy garage has suggested I replace the gasket and the cover at £240 for parts & £90 labour (1.5hrs). They say the cover warp over time and should be replaced while off to do the gasket.
Has anyone else heard of this?

Damm , wish id known about the oil leak = sponge fix when i had my 645  could have saved myself £600 on having all engine gaskets changed
Naughty naughty that :(

Got my gasket from Euro Car Parts (£27), a pack of 25 rubber bolt washer/seals from BMW (about £18) - you only need 15 of them and my local Indy charged me 1.5 hours (and supplied the sealant!).
