Well there has been a bit of lacquer missing from the centre console next to the gear stick for a while now and its really been annoying me.
£350 + vat for a new part from BMW was far too expensive to justify.
I recently bought a set of damaged trim cheaply and the plan was to have them wrapped in gloss carbon.
I went to a local vinyl place and they wanted £150 to wrap the 6 parts and they didnt have gloss carbon.
I decided as I had some textured carbon vinyl lying around I would just do it myself.
A few hours wrapping and a few hours swapping over and its done.
I think they have turned out great, the pics dont show it at its best as they were taken inside the garage.
It may be temporary until I figure out how to remove the rest of the lacquer without damaging the carbon etching underneath and get the originals relacquered.
What do you think?

I've still got a full set of interior trim sat in the garage if someone wants a set to practice on :)
I would have taken yours off you but did not want to insult you with a low offer.

No problem. It looks great. I'm tempted to have a bash myself haha

Still can't believe how much BMW charge for the part. Ludicrous!

You have done a good job there

How long did it take you?
Done over a few nights, probably about 3 hours all in and then fitted 2 hours on Friday afternoon and 2 1/2 hours Saturday morning.
Will be quicker if I take it apart again as I know now how it all comes out. I was being very cautious not to mark or break anything and as I didnt know how it all came out I was loosening parts that didnt need to be touched.
The first door took me the best part of 2 hours but the other door was just over half an hour.
