Small change

:? I like my white indicators & also like the whippy , the more time i spend on the outside of my E89 the more i appreciate its styling , the lady designer has created a thing of beauty 8)

Just looked at the pics, and yes my foot has moved. Pretty close though.
I didnt want to put the chrome style repeaters on as everybody is doing it. And I dont like straying too far from standard with any vehicle.
With it being a black car the white lights stood out a mile, it makes you wonder why they were made like that in the first place....orange or clear lenses might have looked better.
And thats more than a bit of small change Maniac.

I didnt tint the whole repeater, only the white part, I left the clear section as it was.
The white section is really quite flat with only a slight curve to it.
I would imagine it would be really quite easy to cover it with a tinted film if only covering the white part.
If the spray tint hadnt turned out well I was going to use tinted film instead.
I had to put on quite a few coats to get it to a uniform state before lacquering.

So you spray tinted it right? Which product did you use? I'm a bit confused as to what you meant about the white part, as it looks like you have sprayed the whole indicator. Maybe i'm a bit confused,

Look at the first pic.
The indicator has a white rhombus shaped part that you can see clearly.
Towards the cabin the part of the indicator nearest the BMW badge that cannot be seen in the pic is a clear section, not very big.
I left this part clear and coated the white part.
I used a product called Hycote lens paint and then clear lacquer over the top to make it more durable.

Thanks - the part in bold is what I was confused about, all I saw was the white indicator completely tinted. Thanks for the help, i'll try this on the weekend.
