Slow iDrive screen?

From time to time (but increasingly often) my iDrive screen is slow to pop-up and/or retract

Is there something stuck that i can lubricate?

Or could this be early signs of battery problems?

It never fails to open up completely but this can sometimes take several seconds after i start car

When you say it’s slow…do you mean that the movement starts immediately but it’s rate of opening is slow or does it wait for several seconds them open smartly?

Bad design, again.
The gears are all exposed on the right hand side.
I sprayed some silicon bumper shine on the gears, mainly to stop them rattling.
Try that.

I would say usually movement starts immediately but then stops after a second before continuing some seconds later

Although i think on occasion it has also been a delayed start
