Has anybody any experience af driving down to Slovenia?

We are are looking at Kranjska Gora. Went there many years ago and I think the area deserves another visit!

Have been to Slovenia, but by bike. Went down by the Motorail service from Düsseldorf to Villach, very easy and very efficient. Loved Slovenia, stunning place.
Rode back through Austria and included Berchtesgaden, then Dachau and then across to the Black Forest and Vosges before heading north through the Alsace region, Luxembourg and Belgium.

It was 30yrs ago last time we went so things will have changed! We went by Balkan Air and changed £10 a day and survived very well on that in those days - I suspect that normal € and European prices will prevail these days!

Mr Ronk, how long you going for? Are you after route suggestions or info on Slovenia itself?

So many good options for the drive there

We will be in the Slovenia area for about a week. The route will be from Imuiden (Amsterdam) down thro Germany, Austria and then into Slovenia.
We were in Kranjska Gora thirty years ago, we enjoyed it and wondered how things have changed and what the motoring situation is like. Ie traffic volume / fuel / road tolls if any ?

It was 2009 I went, we spent a few days in the Triglavski National park, the Soca Valley and then Lake Bled, I really enjoyed it all, although Bled was very touristy tacky.

I do recall people being very friendly and welcoming, fuel was easily available like anywhere else in Europe, don't recall any tolls whatsoever. But I do recall traffic being minimal, however Slovenia and Croatia are now much more popular and they may well have changed.

Never quite felt I explored Slovenia properly, on my list to return to.
