Sloppy shifting

Had my Zed for about a month and generally I'm very happy with it, beginning to notice a few niggles and this is one - when in gear there seems a fair bit of lateral movement in the gearstick. Shifting from 3rd to 4th, for example, isn't quite as crisp as I imagine it should be as there seems to be a little sloppiness in the gear linkage.

Can this be refurbed? I've had a search but with little luck - is there a gear linkage bushing kit or similar out there? Or would I be best fitting a short shifter?
 
Haven't had this problem in the zed, but had a similar problem in my 330D, but then it had nearly 180k when I sold.

I got a bush kit from BMW & a mate fitted it which really tightened things up.

Sorry, it was a long while ago, can't recall part numbers etc.
 
I had a similar issue with a Z3 it was the shift pins wearing. Luckily it was a job I could do at home.
