SLK 350 over 3.0si?

Problem with the SLK is the rear end is truly ugly, they still haven't fixed the problem on the newest model

At least it got the front right - the latest incarnation manages to mess that up too, far to high and bulky imo.

I've never seen a bloke in an SLK, but that doesn't mean its not a good car, does it? :?

Tim.

I know a bloke that had a 350. He was a customer at my mates garage. Whenever he was in he would talk about the car being a hit with the ladies, it used to sound like they were obviously more into the car than him. He tried to sell to sell to my mates pkace when he wanted rid describing it as great and reliable. Obviously he forgotten who he'd been paying to fix it all too frequently.

the SLK has a metal folding roof - big plus point, but they do tend to be driven mostly by women. I prefer the pre face lift too. I did have a phase when I considered a 350. I believe the cabin isn't the best place to be - bit uncomfortable and flimsy, although I've never sat in one let alone driven one

Yes, there is still something in the looks of a Merc I do not like. You see Z4 and those proportions, car is magnificent. Ahh.
Still, I have got a hardtop so metal folding roof is not really an issue.

Yes hello,
There has been an idea in my mind for about a month now. Would you sell your Z4 3.0si for SLK 350 post facelift?
The thing is, my friend's got one and its a really cool car, it is faster and sounds better when you push it to the max. But still my hearth says Z4 looks much better, but my mind is telling me try SLK.

Had the newer one as a loaner after some tw@ crashed into mine, folding roof is nice as is air scarf but honestly was glad to be back in the zed after a week of the merc

This is what I am glad to hear. You drove and you came back I think I may chose same way. Ima switch for SLK and then after a month JESUS WHAT HAVE I DONE, Z4 KOM BEK :(

Exactly! The noise that the SLK makes is truly something else but it just cant come close to that go cart feeling you get behind the wheel of a zed

Bought a 06 SLK 350 manual to replace a Porsche 3.2 boxst er S .......I was surprised just how good it was , turn in was one of the best I've experienced ( imop) and it was quicker than the Porsche

It seems to me that you simply cannot have everything, either you own both of them when you are lucky or you take one which suits you better.

Boxter proportions hurt my brain. I do not not which side is front when you look from a side on this car. But truth is right there, 350 is quick and sounds amazin when accelerating.

Depends which one.

The facelifted R171 with 306hp - yes I would and have considered doing so once or twice. All issues with 05-08 models sorted, lower tax band, big interior improvements and better styling.

The 2011- models are slower and IMO look atrocious. Don't see why you'd bother with those.

Finding a manual would be a nice achievement too.
