Slight stutter at low revs.

Noticed recently when pulling away through the gears, in 2nd or 3rd at pretty low revs, the car seems to stutter or miss very slightly.
Once the revs have climbed - all is fine.
Car was serviced a couple of weeks back and all was well.
I'm new to the Z4 and been reading about the clutch valve - and wondering if its a potential cause.
Car in question is an 2004 2.2.
Cheers

my clutch went at about 35k :o

symptoms were a slight judder when moving off when the engine was cold. dealer installed a new clutch under warranty :D

Since car is almost 6 years old - I can't imagine the main dealer would replace it under warranty.
I'll live with it just now and think about a possible clutch swap when the weather gets better.
I've already spent £600 on servicing and parts this year - if it starts becoming a money pit then its off.
Spent more on the Z4 in the last couple of months than on the 911 in the 10 years of ownership!!!!!!

But CDV or clutch would be a very identifiable 'lurching' or 'kangarooing' as opposed to the stutter/misfire you mention.....I have had it on a lowish-mileage four pot motor sometimes, in which case dropping it down a cog and flooring it seems the only cure at the time! I think its just a matter of not changing up too soon.....

I have noticed mine doing the same, if pulling away slowing or changing from 1st to second gently you can feel the clutch (and car, passengers have noticed it) judder as I bring the clutch up to the biting point gently. Its very odd. Seems worse when car is cold and is one of those things that if I take it to the dealer I wont be able to demonstrate it as its very intermittent.

Doesnt seem to be clutch slip as if I purposely load the clutch by trying to pull away in a high gear with the hand brake on i cant feel it slip.

Anybody any thoughts?

Thanks

Do a search for the CDV - its an annoying little bugger - and i am sure it shortens the life of the clutch - when i have mine in for a brake fluid change it will def be coming off my car.

The OP says in 2nd or 3rd gear which shouldnt be clutch issues as itll be fully engaged..?

Try a throttle body reset... Mine had partial throttle hesitation once (admittedly at higher ~3k rpm)and this cleared it.

Ignition on, wait 10sec
Ignition off, wait 10sec
Ignition on, wait 10sec
start engine

I read all that I could find about CDV before the post, most of the references to the CDV referred to a kangerooing and from my understanding happen when changing gear with speed and bringing the clutch up quickly when pressing on a bit.

Mine is defiantly more of a judder which occurs when changing gear gently and brining the clutch up slowly...hence my concern

or have I misunderstood?
