Slight leak from gearbox?

My manual E85 seems to have a slight leak from gearbox

Indy mechanic suggested it was not worth worrying about

BMW dealer says not covered by warranty as car has done over 60k

Anyone else had this?

07 car & not crazy mileage ? . seems unusual for oil leak on manual gearbox .
is your indy clued up on BMW's ? if not then my first task would be to have it looked over by someone well used to the in's & out's of BM's

Yes my indy is well regarded, think the leak is very small, more like a misting

then unless discharge is noticeable on drive don,t worry about it

No to both, would leaking gearbox effect fuel consumption?

I have just had a leak fixed on my gear box. It was the rear output shaft seal. It was causing a leak around the bottom the gear box.

It was uber annoying as the seal was only £20 but the labour of dropping the output shaft and getting to it meant the labour was near £150!!!
