get a large air rifle
cover the roof with something?

Please, keep it sensible (I know you were joking). We had a load of trouble in previous threads with suggestions like that.

OP - worth reading some of the previous threads on this. There were some good ideas in most of them

Wish I could help but none of my suggestions are good if its your own cat and probably not legal

There were tears at bedtime when this was last discussed!

I have a fence post at home the moggies used as a scratching post - Its in tatters now but the tin foil has stopped it!
Now all I have to stop is the their crap in the garden. :x

I struggle with cats crapping in garden too... Does my head in!!

haha love it, made me smile and snapped me out of the mood that ginger cat put me into

My neighbours Mondeo ST and my other neighbours M3 has also had the same cat however one has scratches on the bonnet as it slipped down it after it had a polish and the M3's roof polished out

as for me, will this work or u guys taking the P!ss haha :poke:

Hey up lads, they fall for the old "Baco foil" mod every time
I haven't got a clue if it works,so keep us up to date on it.
That's a mod I've never seen on a Zed !
It is my cat that uses my roof as a sun lounger so I don't feel so bad,but if it wasn't my cat I would be fuming. :x

It definitely worked for me, no s**t!

well first night and no cat, early days but give it a couple of days just to make sure the neighbour never took a different approach to me

How do soft top owners who have cats deal with the problem?

Garage works well. My own cat is a house cat and I don't let it roam unsupervised. Which works with teenage hooligans as well. Just keep the little b******s (both kinds) locked up.

Sounds good to me!

It seems most peoples kids and cats are the sweetest little things while at home - Outside they quite often go feral and their owners do into denial.

When removed, the patch will be black underneath as it has been baked by the sun

We have no sun in Scotland :P which asks the question why did I buy one lol

A quick update I had a proper look and noticed cat prints up the bonnet and on the roof, but it appears the little barsteward never stayed for long as I have no cat hair

So lets see what happens

Scatmat!

The ultra sonics work to some degree but i had 2 (rented) neighbours who had cats which they neglected and for a year those cats ruined my car. Thankfully they left and took their cats... But the scatmat did stop it going on the roof.... And they went to the bonnet instead!

I bought a cabrioshield http://www.cabrioshield.com/usa/bmw_z4.html. <20seconds to fit when I park and I put it on almost every time I stop. Great buy, and should help with a few other issues too as it keeps leaves and other detritis away from the drain holes. There is a choice of colours - not sure if they do a foil one :-)

It all boils down to cat owners being iresposible and no respect for other peoples property. I am a dog owner and I don't let my dog out to roam the streets and damage peoples property. I even carry bags to pick up his business. They should be a stamp down on cats on the streets damaging property, damaging gardens and killing wildlife.

Only a question for cat owners who own soft tops - Do your cats sit on your soft tops /cars at home?

If not - how do you stop them?
