slight boot leak

hi, so there appears to be a very slight ingress of water into the cubby box in the boot, the rest of the boot is bone dry, units have been replaced by previous owner and look well sealed up bar the one spot I've seen where its coming in, please see attached pic.

Looks like there may be a bung of some type missing? Can anyone shed some light on this, I have done a forum search and there are lots of various posts but I can't see this mentioned, struggling to track it down on real oem too.

I could just silicone it up but not sure where the water would then go to..hopefully around the seal and down the bumper?

If anyone could shed some light I'd appreciate it

If your car was made before 2012 the stop lights were using 3 “dings” to hold onto the frame. This model of stop lights were discontinued and a new model with only 2 “dings” was introduced. If I remember right the official instructions in newtis suggest using silicone (as you said) on the 3rd hole for models made before 2012 that need to replace the stop lights.

(It’s from what I remember reading, if somebody else knows better please excuse my mistakes :) )
