Not just needing a wheel balance or has that been done recently - easier to get done than an alignment ! I've got a good guy southside Glasgow but nowhere near Dunfermline. Ally might be able to help (not quite his patch)

Castleblair in the Wellwood area (01383 624288) if it’s just a wheel balancing issue, the owner Mel is mates of my F-in-L Olly and does all our MOTs and is our first port of call for any car related issues.

Pro-Grip in Larbert (01324 557071)is renowned as the best Hunter-equipped specialist in the central Scotland area, ironically it’s located behind to the Premier Inn in Larbert. John the owner has a great reputation and has done all of my vehicle inc amusingly my campervan :D
 
Oh, and rather wet here in Falkirk. Witnessed a classic case of wet road-induced LOOS this morning as a Pug 307 sailed sideways around the roundabout 4 cars ahead of me, before being halted by a big road sign. Lots of airbag detonations and smoke before we helped the guy push it onto the verge. Oops.
 
stereo issues solved, parts in from eurocrapparts, boot nearly packed.
just need to wait for coolant to cool to fit the new sensor, then I'll be ready to go.... tired already lol
 
We got here about 1450, already had my Dad out and scared him witless - he refused the offer to drive the car :D

I'm going to deal with the wobble for now, it's not really noticeable on non-motorway roads and is maybe just a wheel weight fallen off... Though it is pulling to the left a little, so probably worth getting an alignment done in the near future. Thanks for the recommend though Ally, appreciated :thumbsup:

Glad everyone seems to be getting up here fine - hope the rest of you arrive safely...

My family keep asking if I'm sure we want to camp with the weather, but I am steadfast in my commitment to discomfort :lol:
 
I have pm'd you, Allan............but I will only be coming for the meet-point to say hi, as when I came home on Thursday night from work, I noticed a very large crack on my windscreen, stemming from a very small stone chip at the base of the screen, going about halfway up the damn screen!!!
Spent a lot of time on the phone today trying to get a windscreen fitted, but nobody can get me one before Monday :headbang:

Will see you in the morning, to say hi at least :(

Well we've finally made it home.
What a weekend: awesome driving, great scenery & weather, and fantastic people to share it with.

Home safe and sound - 820 miles 28.2mpg (should have taken the A1 home instead of the A68 to boost the average - Zed did 36mpg on the way up to Falkirk)

Looking forward to taking time to post an account of Mine and Steph's first Skye trip with the forum but for now, have to say it's been terrific!

Despite the periods of poor weather on the way up, the roof stayed down all weekend except once, after Loch Lomond, for a very short while.

Today has been amazing - sunshine and blue sky all day!

Great roads, great company, great memories - thanks Bing!

Made it part-way home, staying in hotel just north of the Dales before rest of journey home - if weather is good will be returning to the roads over the Dales that Tony and Ruth showed us on Friday (Thanks guys :thumbsup: )

Absolutely amazing weekend -big thanks to Bingleby and everyone else who was there. Can't help but think that the co-pilots got the best of the deal as they got to gawp at the incredible scenery whilst the menfolk had to keep their eyes on the road.

Lots (and lots and lots) of pics will sort through them and get them posted once home

Wonderful to meet you all, hope to see you all again

All home nice and safe.
had an engine warning light come on 40 miles from home, but luckily I had the laptop in the car to diagnose it as just a case of bad fuel (we ran ] low on the way home trying to find a service station, then when we did, its entrance wasn't clear, so we ended up at the shops carpark with no way to get to the fuel! had to run on 22 miles with the dash saying we had "----" miles!)

total trip was 1218 miles, which according to TomTom, is more than enough to get to the city centre of Madrid!!!

anyways.. so very tired, so I will leave pics until the morn.

excellent trip Bing - rate it as probably the second best runout I've ever been on (only beaten by the first ever national, and only really because it was the first national!)
cracking roads, excellent company, witty banter, and overhearing Bing Jr tell Bing Sr he'd prefer if I was in front cos I was better :driving: :rofl:

Just got home too, 1247 miles in total. Awesome time, thanks Bing for putting it all together. Photos to follow tomorrow, off to bed :D
