SkyeFall Run 2014 - 30th & 31st August - Updated 29/07/14

I've bought an extra bottle of extra strength midge repellent, and done the girly thing and packed various pills and potions

Great to hear you're confirmed Ian

Mrs B has snuck various things into our luggage

My car is fuelled, fluids checked, tyres and bolts checked, and nearly packed. I even have a reduced car wash kit in there in case I actually have the balls to go 'Hi Dad, long time no see - can I use the hose ?'...

Well we're halfway to Jockland, well fed and better watered (well I'm sure there was some water in it) and ensconced in our Premier Inn room - and most acceptable it is too, cheers Tony

Drive up was pretty uneventful appear from a couple of 'normal' tailbacks on the M1 - they ruined my mpg figures, I was getting 36+ mpg before we hit them, eventual average for the 280 miles was 35.3mpg which isn't bad for a 9 year-old 3.4l engine  but that'll probably be the only time this weekend I manage figures anything like that 8)

Drove back from London yesterday and back from Cambridge this afternoon.

Arrived home at 6pm and at half past was cleaning the Zed's wheels! managed to get a coat of polish and wax on the Zed as well and a trip to the petrol station to brim the tank.

Looking forward to the weekend and will check the pressures and fluids in the morning.

Mozzie face nets have arrived!

Nearly ready for Skye!

:driving:

Have fun, ashame about the weather - hopefully it is not as bad as the forecast.

Yeah, looks a bit meh... My Dad can't believe we're camping. At least the sound of the rain might drown out all the snoring

I didn't wash mine... Maybe just clean the wheels later :D

Lovely and sunny so far, but only at Watford Gap... I expect it'll be shite soon :x

Setting off from Leeds soon - just started to rain lightly but maybe that's the best I'm gonna get today! P.S. Mine hasn't been washed in a fortnight so a bit if rain might perk it up a bit!

We're more than half way now... Got a wobble though, about 75-85mph :(

Just steering, so think it's alignment... Don't suppose anyone knows a hunter alignment place near Dunfermline that will take a short notice booking at 3.30 on a Friday

We're setting off between 1pm and 2pm (hopefully)

Raining here too - glad I washed, polished and waxed the car last night - and cleaned the wheels.

In the words of Ian Dury - "What a waste"

:driving:

Not just needing a wheel balance or has that been done recently - easier to get done than an alignment ! I've got a good guy southside Glasgow but nowhere near Dunfermline. Ally might be able to help (not quite his patch)
