Sadly won't be in the zed - it's not an easy fix
Hope Bing doesn't mind an alternative German brand :-(
Ah well, we'll just have to see if the Alpina can keep up with the porker on Friday then

Would have been good to get two bright red zeds together, but alas it wasn't to be. It's the second time in a row we've had to bail out of the zed for forums runs at the last minute - I think it might be shy.

Regarding somewhere to eat - forum member A11y lives nearby, so could give us recomendations if someone wants to PM him. He did suggest going to see the Kelpies if we arrive early (10 mins from the PI in Larbert that me ruth perry and cindy are staying at), and he'll probably come out for a quick drink if we invite him too.

Presume the Premier Inn will have an attached Pub and Resteraunt which are normally pretty reasonable.

p.s. Who's staying where?

If I've got this right...

Unknown
- Andrew
- Craig

PI Falkirk
- Tony & Ruth
- Paul & Steph
- Oli & Vicky
- Perry & Cindy

Somewhere in Stirling
- Alan & Christine

Sleeping in own bed
- Nick & Lorraine

Sleeping on old man's sofa (or possibly in the car if he annoys his dad)
- Bing

Lap of luxury because grandparents are there to spoil grandkids
- Wee Bing

I'd expect Andrew and Craig to be in their own beds, still bpnot heard if Craig is actually coming along.

Getting excited now - the inside of the car is clean, however the outside may well not be... Cleaning it could be the thing that earns me a night in it

3 more sleeps :trampoline:

Departure time in 5 hours for us

Although we're taking it easy as we're not hardened long-distance drivers like Bing - apparantly he spent last weekend installing one of these in the ///M so that he won't have to stop for a wee :P

Don't know what WB is going to do....

Getting old really sucks Perry... Even more than that bizarre contraption you recommended :D

Weather in Leeds is currently sunny - hope (although doubt!) it stays like this for awhile - safe journey and see you tomorrow :)

Cheers Tony - sunny here too so cases packed, roof down and ready to go

right.. late comer and all.

My hotel (PI Falkirk) is booked and sorted for tomorrow night.
My ferry (malliag 15:20 saturday crossing) is booked and paid for.

New expansion tank is sitting in the passenger footwell ready to go on this evening along with a gallon of coolant to fill it's belly!

Does anyone know if I need to book / sort out anything else beforehand too? :tumbleweed:

also.. as a sheer coincidental note.

This route, and this exact campsite is the one my EXwife and I took for the start of our honeymoon

There's a pub just down from the campsite if memory serves, where we were both offered some exceedingly old whisky from a cellar bottle cracked open specifically for us on our honeymoon by an extremely generous bar manager.

I realised that my wedding wasn't going to last on that night, as she asked, twice, if she could "get some coke mixed in with it". :headbang:

Someone say my name? 8)

Let me know what the plans are for tomorrow night: when are you all expecting to arrive, head for dinner, etc. If possible I'll head along too.

The PI in Larbert does indeed have a pub attached (standard practice in Scotland :drinking:): http://www.all-inns.co.uk/pub/the-outside-inn. It's decent enough but there are better eating places in Falkirk, all would involve a drive though. I'm happy to make some suggestions though if that's a preferred option...

I definitely can't make even the start of the run on the Sat :(

I'll phone you as we get close - probably late afternoon, so time for Kelpies too :)

Nice one
Got any midge spray ?

You may be lucky ref the midges.
My neighbour came back yesterday after 2 weeks up there and say it's been too windy for the midges.

That doesn't bode well for my amateur tent pitching skills though
