SKYE MEET/RUN, 22nd/23RD AUGUST 2015.

UPDATE....i have put an alternate date for the 22/23rd of August, which would appear to suit evryone better.

Can I ask if anyone particularily wants to do a run upto Skye and back, or would people rather do braemar/Skyefall route, using the Braemar route we have done in the past, as i am not sure it will be possible to do both in the same weekend??

I personally would love to do Skye, going to Portree via the Skye Bridge, doing a loop upto Uig, then coming back down to Armadale,getting the ferry to Malaig(Malaig roads an enjoyable 1)....back down via loch lomond-side etc?

I would also be happy doing the Braemar/Skyefall route, which is also excellent.
I know i would still want to do Skye, and several people at the National expressed a definite interest in doing Skye itself.

Let me know, cheers, and i will gat a route finalised, as we will need to book hotels/b&b's etc. soon :D

Paul - the route is by no means set in stone and up for discussion. We had talked about three days, but that involves a lot of time off for us working types :wink: I am sure the ideas will evolve as things firm up.

Regarding Shepshed, bit of a faux pas there, sorry. I guess we'll have to consider the next weekend and maybe the last weekend in August instead, in the spirit of avoiding clashes, as long as people can do Shepshed one week and then a Scottish run within a week or two ?

Thinking about it, maybe I'll turn up at Shepshed too if Craig agrees to drop the first date... Though that might be a bit awks for reasons not appropriate to be discussed on this thread :P

Have dropped the 1st dates, as wasn't aware about the other meet...so will be the 22nd/23rd, which still suits the majority, and looking like Skye is the preffered choice with the many :D :driving:

I would like to meet up. Will drive from Fort William to Rannoch or bridge of Orchy. And meet you there. May not make the full trip to Skye but would like to meet you all. :thumbsup:

Hi Folks....just back my hols, now need to phone round etc. and see what hotels/b n b's etc are available.

ON THAT NOTE...CAN THOSE WHO HAVE THEIR NAMES DOWN PLEASE SAY IF THEY WANT TO STAY IN A HOTEL/B N B OR CAMPSITE, SO I CAN CHECK INTO AVAILABILTY AND SO I KNOW HOW MANY ROOMS ETC WE WILL NEED...ASAP, AND THEN I CAN POST WHEN SORTED.

I will leave people to book themselves, as per last Skye trip, but I need to know how many rooms we will be looking to book, when phoning places, cheers :thumbsup:
