Sky Broadband

Didn't want to start a new thread, but I just had BT Infinity installed - took them 20mins, and have gone from 3.5mb down / 0.3mb up to 69mb down / 8mb up. I am in broadband heaven :D :D :D

We are on Sky Fibre Optic, gives the same performance as BT, and my employer picks up the bill :D

My employer is providing my broadband and this is an employee benefit

Next thing is to connect my Sky box wirelessly, and get some BT Vision going on as well :D

I'm with Sky and can't complain about it. I'm getting 13Mb/s and no stability issues. 6 months free, £100 cashback, £25 M&S voucher (which I just received last night) is pretty good deal.

The only issue I had was the time it took to get my line activated (6 weeks roughly), but I think that's not something Sky can control as BT engineers do the work on lines.

There is a long queue unfortunately... Broadband is popular stuff. To be totally correct it is Openreach who do the work for other licenced operators, including BT themselves. And BT branded services experience the same lead times (or delays) as they are treated the same as Sky, Talk Talk or whoever. It did take 3 weeks for them to deliver mine. No preferential treatment as an employee either

I think your all disgusting. :poke: Here in Germany they seem to be a few years behind. I had to use a T-Mobile Sim card via a USB dongle on my Imac. My connection is edge. Which if I'm lucky blazes the data to me at 256k. So, The next time someone whines about a 2-3 Mbs connection might end up with a black eye.
