SkiPi - All in one car "module" project thread

likely to be one-touch operation as the next biggie.

on that note, trying to find a pinout for the centre console (the one with the roof operation buttons).
If anyone has that, that'd be handy

Fair play, I bought myself a Rasp-PI a while back to try do some of the same, the main thing I was after was to just hook it up to my appradio http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/archive/AVH-X7500BT/page.html using a 4pole rca/composite cable so I could mirror my phone completely to it for running all the apps I'd like.
Mainly because i had a jailbroken doubledin appradio previously that was far far better (and half the price) than the one i've to use in the Z

Never got round to it because of work sadly.

morning all,
Just a thought , but those members asking about roof opening and closing, when moving off from traffic lights etc, would it not put too much strain on the roof frame work etc, and the roof it's self, as any faster, and it would act like a parachute, especially on raising, making it balloon..
Please forgive my ignorance if i have the wrong idea on this, as i'm not that technically minded, and please be nice with your replies .

I have just re read the thread and noticed some people asking about the roof opening when moving which has given me an idea for another feature for your SKiPi set up, completely unrelated to the roof..... One of the things I noticed mentioned was the signal for how fast the car is going so was wondering if the Pi could tap into that some how and pick up the signal that you are below 5mph then you could add an aftermarket front parking sensor and set the pi to only open the switch to turn it on below that speed. I have seen the sensors dirt cheap http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-Parking-Sensors-Auto-Car-Parking-Reverse-Backup-Radar-Undercover-security-/181782793138?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2a53194bb2 or http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/No-Drills-Holes-Invisible-In-Bumber-Electromagnetic-Rear-Parking-Sensor-Kit-UK-/391173903231?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item5b13c8137f and am debating which one to buy for the back of my car, but would be cool to have front too.

Just noticed you have the sat nav system installed in your car so do you know if it would work on the cars without nav?

pretty much anywhere you find the ibus...
for my work so far, im using the cd changer interface as its already unplugged in my car.

there's at least 30 places in the car to get onto the i/k bus

This is what I did so I could keep the Resler and Intravee plugged in.

+1 from me too.
I missed out on the Gap tech group buy so would be interested in your work just from the remote roof side of things.

in all seriousness i cant wait for this to fully develop and see some of the stuff it can do :driving:

All development on this is currently on hold for at least ten days, as I've had my bank account emptied by some scrote in Canada :headbang:
Had hoped to pick up some relays this afternoon, but turns out I've got less cash than Greece

Perhaps set up a "Marmite" account for funding ;)
Seriously, sorry to hear about the fraud Ian - good luck with getting it resolved soon!

Amazing work mate, sorry to hear about the bank. I had this happen once when my card was cloned at a cashpoint - even since I've had more than one account and only keep £50 in it for taking out cash. Bank were very good and sorted it within a few days but it's still a hassle.
