Skewered my Zed

Managed to skewer my car with a 4 foot security post that was raised a couple of inches from horizontal, caught the front skirt and it flipped up under the car

RAC man released post from ground, then new recovery team could not remove post, ended up having to angle grind off a piece so that car could be moved onto trailer.

Gutted as just got car back a week ago having cracked front bumper after rear ending someone!

Not been the best couple of weeks, hoping damage not too bad this time.( car still drives)

Anyone else manage to do this?

Car lowered, but does not catch on speed bumps :D

Nope. This has got to be a first. Lol.

Joking aside. I hope you get it fixed and it doesn't cost too much or caused serious damage.

Thanks all for your sympathy!

It appears that I have been a pratt, but the post was nearly lying flat - have driven over it hundreds of times, but some numpty
had left it couple of inches up :x

Luckily fully comp with protected NCB, unluckily 700 quid excess :!:

With a £700 excess surely its cheaper to fix yourself and not affect your insurance. Are you sure you haven't damaged anything mechanical?

I admire your openness, 2 bumps in 2 weeks I think I'd have kept quiet.

When you come to sell it on here 1 careful owner :)

Def feel sorry for you (and the car)
You must have hit it fairly hard.

Hope it didn't crack anything major on the engine or box..

:o Hopefully that hasn't taken out any thing too expensive.

Watched a brand new 370Z flip up the corner off a drain cover a few years back. He was doing about 10 mph. Lifted the car off the ground and put a whole through the floor on the passenger side. Some times your just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

We've all done daft things in our time - as others have said, at least you owned up when others (including myself) would keep schtum.

'has anyone else managed to do this' . . . . er . . . no :?
Seriously though, I hope you get it all sorted soon.

(Mr. Wilks - Kes! stop it :headbang: )

Repair cost adds up, new bumper, new radiator - likely more than 700
depending on what you have damaged, first you have mention of the rad. I thought it was just the bumper, plenty of them around second hand, lick of paint and your laughing for far less than £700

however if you have done mechanical damage as well this could cost a small fortune. 2 accidents in 2 weeks, bet your insurance company loves you, or at least they will at renewal time!

:D :P such a iconic book + film from my schooldays

aldi car park in hull has some security posts strangely in normal bays laid down flat. The Z4 is on M sports suspension from the factory yet the front bumper hit the post and tore a lump out. Surely they are liable? I never did get round to writing a letter to them or fix the bumper...

 My old baby

Feel sorry for you, Hope it can be fixed easily.

If you ever want it raised up a bit I would be more the happy to help seeing as its in coilovers
