Sisitalia Cream Leather Footstool

Hi boys and girls,
I'm selling a Sisitalia cream leather footstool on eBay at the moment, just listed it.
It was purchased about a year ago (just before Christmas 2011, arrived a few months later) and has been treated with love and care by its owner (my landlord) using Guardsman-supplied leather treatment products.

Unfortunately, an embarrassing story involving broken central heating, a drunken night out and an electric heater has led to one side becoming slightly scorched, with slight discolouration and a tightening of the leather.
Given that one side of the stool is always up against a sofa, I personally see it as just an unfortunate accident.

Sadly, the insurance won't cover a repair or replacement, so I'm being forced to fork out for a brand new one. As such, I am selling this one as almost-perfect ... apart from one slight mishap!!

Full details and pictures can be found here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251267838681

I've just listed it. I'm really looking for £350 - £400 if at all possible to try and 'cushion' the blow of the £600 bill for the new one :-/

Seems like you're asking a lot for what is basically a damaged item.

Edited slightly as I've now read the full post haha

Well, it's a lightly-marked £600 footstool. Unless you stick it in the centre of the room, you'll never even notice the mark (Yes, I've put this to my landlord who decided he wanted a new one).

I don't think asking for a decent amount is out of order.

Out of order no, optimistic yes. You might be better taking a gamble having it repaired and selling as undamaged.
