I'm thinking ahead to when it is clutch time and I'm wondering if it's worth fitting a SMF. Have many done it on the N52 and if so is it costly, difficult or not worth doing? Are the parts easy to source?
This is my plan when it comes time to change. I had the conversion on a different car, was definitely worth it. Can't say what it's like on the zed as I've not been out in one, but will definitely be doing it when the time comes.
What are the pros and cons of this mod?
I thought the dual mass flywheel is smoother but prone to breaking whereas a single mass flywheel is less complicated.

From what I understand it creates a revvier engine and frees up a bit more bhp due to their lighter weight, but comes at the cost of more vibration transmission at idle and can be quite jerky at low speeds.
I’ve done this on my M54 3.0i. Driveability is significantly improved, which I didn’t expect. The slop and rubber band effect are eliminated, and the clutch is easier to accurately modulate because it feels more direct. The downside is as mentioned - more NVH. The car sounds like a diesel at idle.
