Hi, as my roof was getting a little grubby I thought I'd give it a bit of a scrub up in the rain & just let the rain rinse it off saving me a job :P
Luckily smartbear towers is pretty secluded so I don't have any neighbours looking out & thinking I'm a nutter for washing his car in the rain! :oops:

what are you using to protect it afterwards? i thought it had to dry off etc for it to work? (or have you got a garage to let it dry in?)

Hi Jingle, I treat my roof a couple of times a year with weather guard product but this time I've just given it a scrub up with some car shampoo & a brush to clean the dirt off-it's surprising how much road dirt gets in the fabric.
I do have a garage but it's become full of man-stuff over the years & I couldn't even get a smart car in it now!

oh, i thought if you cleaned it like that it would take off all the protectant ...?

Thanks, I'm a big fan of the bear cave! :rofl:
I wash the roof occasionally & it doesn't seem to have any ill effects, the water still beads on it :thumbsup:

To late for me. The neighbours have caught me a few times washing the cars in the rain. As you say it's makes rinsing a whole lot easier. :lol:

Yes Paul, but I only used normal car shampoo (turtle wax) and it's been raining cats & dogs this afternoon :o
