Good news! I just received an email from Graham, Director at Simota, confirming that their carbon intake will be available to buy shortly for the M.

So those of us who were interested in May http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=36562, will now be able to buy one.

I've emailed to ask for pricing info. It'll likely be comparable to the rest of their range.

There's a picture posted above, which is all I have at present. Will ask him about the filter.

Please note (for clarity) that I have no involvement with Simota beyond being a prospective customer - I'm "just another" M owner, before anyone thinks I might be getting a rake-off! :)

They're not. They do them for some non-M variants of the Z already!
Do they? I took a look at the UK website but it said "products under development" for the Z4.... am I looking in the wrong place?

Will these be overly priced like most other induction kits for the M?

most things for ///M cars carry ///M tax sadly, but this should be significantly cheaper than the next nearest item!!

Any gains or is it purely noise?

I have had a Simota fitted on a 5 series i had,and one on an M3..

They are well made and look lovely..But no power increase at all and being brutally honest the noise although more audible wasnt a massive improvement over original..

Oofftt! Good news, the Gruppe M will be no better in terms of tangible benefits. Sound will be the same and you won't gain any performance... (I'd imagine the Gruppe M will be better made though!)

pilchard, lets hope they dont be silly and price it under the gruppe M but like 600 quid....

this needs to be 299-350 MAX!!!! am i dreaming at this price point??

I hope not, as thats more of a realistic price to pay for what is essentially a mass produced item.

If it's very high quality i could stomach 400, but it is still just some moulded plastic/carbon plus some tubes and an air filter! It needs to be at the AFE price oint (ish) but be of better quality. My main interest is in whether or not it's intake is close to the front and not so open to the engine bay. It looks quite good from the picture but its hard to tell

I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they will price it reasonably, on the basis that they probably want to actually sell some!
