Went to the Spanish GP this year, they also have fields acting as car parks. Fair enough with the Spanish climate but in England? Bernie is going to love this.

They do need to sort their drainage though, or properly sort the car parks. Apparently people who were clearly hard of thinking were abandoning their cars on the main roads in and walking into the circuit. Idiots.

The trouble is they don't own much of the land which is used for grass parking, they belong to local farmers who rent it out when the grand prix arrives. Silverstone decided it was best to keep them in tact for race day, which seems logical.

One thing I'm not sure about though, is why there isn't more public transport over the race weekend, park and rides etcetera?

Good point. Interesting that most corporate hospitality involves meeting at a hotel and taking a shuttle (or heli if you're lucky) in. Last year I went in via 4x4 across fields from Turweston Aerodrome, that was fun and added to the day. Quite pricey though. I think they charge £100 each. Agencies no doubt agreed a much better rate

I'm going on Sunday and have park and ride. Supposedly these will be ok but I'm a bit concerned people will try and use them that don't have park and ride tickets if the parking situation does not improve.

About 7 years ago my employer had executive race day hospitality tickets that involved a helicopter from Northampton and a corporate box on the pit lane - £900 a pop Dread to think what they cost now...

Sounds like the trip I took. Tickets were £2000 a go all in. I look after a multi million marketing budget and I wouldn't spend that money on them. I'm not sure what this weekends shindig is costing us as the budget came straight from the US without me touching it.

On another note, just finished importing pics. I shot 1180 of them!

They're a really friendly bunch too. Thinking about spending some money with them to do some customer track days in the road cars.

I went today, traffic was superb! Drive straight down the a43, straight into Silverstone, parked on a gravel area at gate 15(3min walk to the track!!!). It wasn't busy whatsoever and had a fantastic day! Leaving a bit earlier tomorrow though!

was there when they moved the race from July and was wet, thankfully we went in via 4x4 from turweston and had no issues,

I was directly opposite you in the Paddock Club Just where the wall starts to drop down is the best photospot for the pit exit, and the grandstand further round is part of the paddock club and I took the Ferrari pic from there.

Very nice tickets Stuart! I looked over jealously was it worth money? Couldn't bring myself to spend the budget on our clients for those tickets! They can sit with the riffraff! Lol

Enjoy the race? This was my first time to the gp, and still believe how loud the cars are! Amazing experience
