I just booked a track day with the BMW Car Club.
Silverstone GP Circuit
October 6th

I'm sure there will still be some places left and would be good to see some more Z4's.

So I have t join facebook just to see the link

Should be good though - Silverstone is a great place

Yer, sorry about that. I am ashamed to admit that I use Facebook

I'm really looking forward to the new GP circuit.

Having just done the session at Bedford I'd recommend this. Very well organised and a good crowd, no silly risk taking or rash behaviour on track.

It's not cheap is it? £279 for non members.

True! It is very well organised however and not many cars.
I'm only in the UK for about 3 months per year so jumped at the chance to go.

For Silverstone, that is cheap. Silverstone is the most expensive track in the country and is normally £100 a day more than Donington for an open-pitlane day. For a long time I've taken Silverstone out of my list of potential track days as it's just not worth it, although I would like to try the new 'Arena GP' configuration.

For reference, Bookatrack have one on an October weekday and it's £399 - you could have got the 'Ring for that.

Thanks guys - bit late coming in on this one, sorry!

This is our 'National' trackday event and where it all started for us back in the '70s with the original Batmobile CSL's - today it's the modern E46 M3's that you are likely to see on track representing the CSL moniker - we do however have a group of guys from our first ever Silverstone trackday coming to this event with their beloved E9 CSL's and John Castle will be hosting a lunchtime seminar about these iconic motor cars and recalling the exploits of trackdays past from long before I was born - .!

We also have for your delight some special machines from ACSchnitzer, Alpina and Hartge on display in the pit lane.
ACS are kindly letting us have use of one of their highly modified E92 M3's piloted for the day by their R&D driver Manni Woltgarten - hot laps are available FOC.

It's our 30th year of running BMW Car Club trackdays and that's why I'm pushing the boat out a bit - I have spent a lot of the clubs money on this one, please come if you can or help me fill some spaces.

Thanks for looking
Nick

And don't let the age of those E9's fool you - I've been on track with some of them in the past, and they don't tend to hold you up :P

Good news - BMW UK have just confirmed,

they are bringing six 'interesting' cars and some of their latest products for us all to admire.

.. form an orderly queue now please, and remember I'm at the front and they may not get the keys back - lol!

Fantastic!
I have had a worrying week thinking that I may be in the middle of the Atlantic on the 6th and would miss it. All looks better now and I should be home just in time to drag the car out of hybernation.

Sold the last place today
Closing the book now.. and looking forward to a good nights sleep!

Next one..
Oulton Park, full circuit, November 2nd
our famous season closer - only £100!

Would love to but I'm back at work in August (for 3 months). The M3 will have to wait a bit.....
