Pretty sure they’ve never taken a proper knocking - that car was immaculate! The guy on the stand was saying that the insurable value is £3m+ now on the back of John Surtees’ example selling at auction recently. Nearly all of them have had famous owners since so few were made.

They politely declined my request to take the hardtop off. :lol:

Oh wow! Fabulous stuff. Just had a Google and apparently only 252 were built :o They planned to ship 1000 per year to USA but it was way too expensive. The ex-Surtees one went for £3.9m !!!! Went up there for the Sunday again and had a fantastic time of it. Been making this an annual thing for the last few years as the array of cars you get to see racing is just brilliant, also especially nice to go down to the paddock and have a chat with the drivers and owners too.

Afraid I didn't park with the z register!

I was there on the BMW Car Club stand in my E30 convertible. Lots of nice Zeds were there.
