Silver mirrors for 35i

Thinking of getting the mirrors on my 35i changed to the silver ones that you get on the 35is
Would like to get some views.
1 . Are they aluminium stainless steel or plastic painted.
2 . How much would they be?
3. How difficult would they be to fit?
4. What do you think about fitting them to a none 35is?
5. Could I just get the standard mirrors painted?

Cheers,
Paul.

That's a bit like people adding M badges to a non M IMHO... Just my two cents..

But whats the difference between the 35i and the rest of the E89 range? non IMHO.

Ms are completely different ballpark

I think you've misunderstood.. And we're talking 35is not 35i. I'm saying that people try to make their cars something they're not. Eg the 'is' is like an 'm' in that it has distinguishing features found only on that model. M badges belong on a m car and silver mirrors on an 'is'

I wasn't talking about an m car, but the fact people fake cars up and it's generally Ill thought of.

Going off topic slightly I can't understand why people would debage their cars is this not trying to big their car up
As I would think very few top models have their model inscription removed.

35i and IS are practically the same car in all but a few areas, personally I wouldnt want the IS mirrors and that diffuser. The difference between the 35i models and the rest of the range though is I'm afraid night and day, sorry it just is :|

Unlike the old Z4 the E89 doesn't have an M model so I think for me personally the 35i or IS is'nt special enough over the rest of the range to have that X Factor.

I've seen posts on the 1 series sites where owners are wanting to fit the 1M bumpers etc too their humble 1er which I would agree is trying to make something it will never be, the E89 model range is rather more blurred. I really don't think swapping out the E89 wing mirror casings is trying to make a model with a smaller engine a wannabe

The 35i and 35is have the same engine even though the 35is
Has 40 bhp more correct me if I'm wrong I wasn't trying to
Big my car up as if you've driven a 35i you'll know it needs
None I just like the silver mirrors.
Which I've gone off now.

I agree, to the layman there all identical but lets not underestimate what some relatively small hop ups (if you call engine, exhaust, suspension etc) small can make to the overall driving experience and thats what the 35i represents.
Anyway back to mirrors carbon would look way better :)

Talking of which, are there any decent carbon replacement out there? have been doing a search but only seem to be finding the stick on covers and would prefer casing replacements.

Cheers,

Tim.
