Greetings all,

I wanted to ask your advice on a Zed that I took for a test drive earlier today. It's a 2005 model 3.0i with 82k miles on the clock, and in great shape. Brand new tyres on a set of 18" 108's (no scuffs, in brilliant nick). Full service history and a basic 12 month warranty covering all the biggies (engine, gearbox, suspension etc). Pro audio (DSP), GPS, black interior also in great condition. The only thing I'm slightly hesitant on is the colour, I like silver but every other Zed is Silver (or Black). Thoughts?

That looks a really nice car.
For me the condition of the car would be more important than the colour.
It's just a pity the steering wheel is on the wrong side :poke:

i agree with you - i guess it's a blank canvas from which to work from. 8)

...it would look way better with spacers and new coils IMO.

I just found a great example of a Titanium Silver Zed on this forum, now I'm tempted!

that looks great - very biased titanium silver owner . The E85 was n't made in 100s of colours so there are a lot of most colours with the exceptions of Merlot and Toledo Blue, even Maldives is fairly common.

Condition and history before colour but certain colours show off the lines of the Zed so well - silver included - it's also a colour which you don't have to keep cleaning! There's a reason why there are so many silver Zeds - they look great!

Hi I bought this car in August this year.......... It's Sterling grey 2004 - 2.5i - 52,000 miles FSH bought from a main dealer who replaced the roof motor taxed it for 12 months even put a full tank of fuel in it - I love it I was worried about the colour as I really wanted a silver one however the car was too good to pass up and as it happens everyone loves the colour - I would take car over colour every time yours looks like a mint car to me ! Happy Z ing !

I think there are so many silver zeds because it really does show the curves of the car and people see that and buy that colour. I don't think you should miss out on a car like this because there are so many others, just tells me it's probably the most attractive colour for this car. Being different is good but not if it's a compromise :driving:

that's really great advice MO! thanks for that :)

i'll phone and make an offer tomorrow... hopefully it goes my way and i can join the club. :driving:

i'm now looking at Winter options. do i store her till Spring or find a hardtop and winter rims and tyres.

Don't do hardtop, just winter tyres and enjoy the chilly breeze on a Sunny sunday morning in winter. It really doesn't get much nicer than that. People might think you're crazy, but just turn on the heater and heated seats and off you go. You'll love it.

hey there Tommy! great advice... i've put in an offer which has been accepted and I negotiated a brand new set of Winter tyres for the 108 18J :). i'll be sure to keep it out of the snow and enjoy it on those crisp, clear Winter days which i'm sure there will be plenty of.

i'll buy a cover for the soft top for those blustery Winter days as I have an open garage which is slightly exposed to the elements.
